40mm Aero Rims

With a mid-depth of 40mm, the wheels offer aerodynamic efficiency, while not being affected by cross-wind conditions. The ICAN 40 clincher rims come with a 25mm external and 18.35mm internal width, matching 25mm tires perfectly.
This increases aerodynamic efficiency and provides a wide platform for your tires, delivering greater support on the road. The tubular option has a wider 27mm external and 22.5mm internal width, providing even greater support.
DT Swiss Hubs
DT Swiss is known for making some of the best hubs in the world, adorning top racer’s bikes. They are extremely fast rolling and lightweight. The ICAN 40 wheelset comes with the option of two different DT Swiss hubs.
The DT Swiss 350S is the workhorse, delivering fantastic reliability at a reasonable weight. They feature DT Swiss’s patented freewheel Ratchet System with star ratchets instead of pawls, providing greater power transfer and consistency.
The DT Swiss 240S hubs are the ultimate in performance, coming with DT Swiss’s top end Ratchet System. The star ratchet system is made to take excess torque forces, so you’re sure to be able to put all your energy into forwarding momentum. The 240S hubs are lightweight and feature super smooth rolling bearings that are easily serviceable.
Both the 350S and 240S have a straight pull design for the spokes, which offer less strain on the hubs and spokes, giving a stronger, stiffer and more reliable wheel overall. A Shimano freehub is standard on both hub options.
Sapim Aero Spokes
A wheel is nothing without its spokes, and the Sapim CX-Ray aero spokes are the best in the business. Sapim claims that the CX-Ray spokes are almost as light as titanium options, allowing the wheel to keep its featherweight credentials without compromising strength.
The CX-Ray spoke shape is elliptical, making them even more aerodynamic than their flat counterparts. They are made from high-tensile 18/8 stainless steel and are highly fatigue resistant, increasing their reliability and longevity. They are tapered from 2.0mm at either end down to 0.9mm in the middle at their narrowest.
The spokes are straight pull, doing away with the J-bend, which is the weakest aspect of traditional spokes and prone to fatigue. Creating the ICAN 40 with straight pull spokes has allowed the wheelset to keep its weight to a minimum weight while maintaining its strength.

Each ICAN 40 wheelset is provided with a pair of quick release skewers to match the high quality of the wheels, securing them properly into your frame and fork. They also come with carbon-specific brake pads, which are necessary when using carbon fiber rims. These will increase the braking force and consistency when braking over long distances. Super Lightweight
Each ICAN 40 wheelset is built to keep weight to a minimum. The total weight of the wheelset with DT Swiss 240S hubs is just 1426.25g. The front weighs 643.60g and the rear only 782.65g. The DT Swiss 350S specced wheels come in at only 1473.90g, with the front being 2g lighter than the 240S at 641.90g, and the rear only 49.35g heavier, at 832.00g.
Both options come with a rider weight limit of 100kg.
